Project 2

Elevation

The idea driven this design is elevation so the roof level from each of the three section (kiosk, bicycle parking, bicycle store and workshop) is risen from the entrance of the site ( kiosk) to the end of the area (bike store and workshop).

For ease of mind regardless the security, the site is using single entry system so every bicycle move to or from the area could be well monitored.

The bike parking space are being built between the kiosk and the workshop to guarantee the convenience of the student and visitor. Furthermore the overlapping roof are being built to help protect the bike against direct sunlight and rain.

The space for bike store have minimal brick wall to maximise the exposure that the store needs so customer could check the content of the store without needing to go inside the store.

Since bike repair need high level of precision, sufficient lighting is important. Consequently the roof of the workshop are being carefully carved out to allow direct sunlight to shine on the bike stand that the mechanic are working to.

For waste management and stock delivery purposes the workshop have an extra door at the back so trading activity could go well without disrupting the visitor from using the front entrance.
